Cable Bay Adventure Park
Nelson · 15 minutes drive from Nelson CBD

Cable Bay Adventure Park sits on private farmland and native bush 15 minutes north of Nelson, with sweeping views over Delaware Bay and the surrounding coastline. The signature Skywire experience is one of the world's longest flying foxes — a multi-seat ride across a 1.6km native forest valley at speeds up to 100kmph, forward on the way out and backwards on the return. Guided quad bike tours navigate native forest, farmland and coastal viewpoints over 1.5 hours, with passenger bikes and buggies available. Animal encounters, riverside walks, a climbing wall and a licensed Base Café round out the offering. Open year-round, 7 days a week.
Inclusive statement
The Cable Bay Adventure Park team welcomes guests of all abilities and ages — from young children feeding eels to adults chasing speeds of 100kmph on the Skywire. Passenger options on both the quad bikes and buggies mean guests who prefer to ride along rather than drive can still take part, and the team will always look for a way to make the experience work for you.
Good to know
The Skywire requires a minimum height of 1.2 metres. Whilst access is not wheelchair accessible, with assistance can make it work. Quad bike drivers must be 16 years or older and must demonstrate a minimum level of competence on the practice track before joining the tour — anyone not meeting this can ride as a passenger instead. Passenger quad bikes and buggies are available but limited and must be confirmed by phone when booking. We have yet to develop an Access Guide — please contact us directly or MakingTrax for adaptive trips.
