Inland Adventures
Reefton, Greymouth · meeting location will be confirmed apon booking

nland Adventures is a small, locally owned rafting company based in Reefton on the West Coast, run by owner and river guide Nathan Topp. Day trips tackle grade 2–4 rapids on the Upper Grey River (Māwheranui), the gentle Arnold River near Greymouth, and the Upper Waiau River (Waiau-uha) near Hanmer Springs — all through stunning native beech forest, steep gorges and rugged mountain scenery. Multi-day adventures extend the experience to 2 or 3 days of river camping, four-wheel driving and backcountry immersion on the Grey and Waiau, accessed by minibus or helicopter. Groups are kept small (2–12 people) and no prior experience is required. Pickup and drop-off options are available from Reefton, Greymouth and Hanmer Springs — all within a few hours of Christchurch
Inclusive statement
Inland Adventures and MakingTrax work together to make whitewater rafting accessible to guests of all abilities. Rafting is one of the most naturally inclusive adventure activities — everyone is seated, and the whole crew is there to help with transfers. With the MakingTrax whitewater harness available, the team can support guests with limited core function or those who rely on a wheelchair for mobility.
Good to know
The MakingTrax whitewater harness provides full trunk support for guests with limited core function — including those without trunk control. Drysuits are available for guests who lack temperature regulation. Multi-day trips can be equipped with specific requirements and accessible toilet facilities. All adaptive rafting is coordinated through MakingTrax — contact with plenty of notice, including your ability, weight, group size and contact number. Minimum age is 7 years for the Arnold Family half-day; 10 years for full day and multi-day trips. Based in Reefton — transport organised upon booking. Please contact Makingtrax for adaptive trips.
