Mount Cook Ski Planes & Helicopters – INFLITE

Mount Cook Village, Mount Cook · Flights depart from Mount Cook Airport, a 5-minute drive from Mount Cook Village

Adapting Aotearoa Endorsed
MakingTrax Endorsed

Mount Cook Ski Planes & Helicopters, operating as part of the INFLITE group, has been flying over Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park for over 65 years. The fleet includes both fixed-wing ski planes — the only aircraft in the world purpose-built to land on glaciers — and modern helicopters, giving guests the unique option to fly both on the same trip. The signature Ultimate Alpine Experience combines a ski plane and helicopter flight with a glacier landing on the Tasman, New Zealand's longest glacier. Shorter scenic flights with snow landings are available from 25 minutes, with heli-hiking, adaptive ice climbing and glacier experiences also on offer.

Inclusive statement

The INFLITE team tailors every experience to individual needs and has been working with MakingTrax to make their ski plane and helicopter flights accessible to guests of all abilities. If it's possible, the team will make it happen — from boarding assistance through to snow landings with adaptive support on the glacier.

Good to know

The ski plane is easily accessed for all abilities — transferring in and out of the aircraft is straightforward compared to many other flight experiences. On snow landings, the crew will assist guests onto the snow where possible. Weight restrictions apply — for adaptive trips contact MakingTrax in advance with your ability, weight, group size and contact number to arrange. All flights are weather dependent. We have yet to develop an Access Guide — please contact Makingtrax for adaptive trips
