Mt Cook Glacier Guiding
Mount Cook Airport, Mount Cook · Trips depart from Mount Cook Airport 15 minutes from Mount Cook Village

Mt Cook Glacier Guiding is a partnership between INFLITE (Mount Cook Ski Planes & Helicopters) and Fox Glacier Guiding — bringing together over 65 years of aviation experience and decades of professional glacier guiding. Trips fly guests in by helicopter or ski plane to remote sections of the Haupapa/Tasman Glacier — New Zealand's largest — for guided heli-hikes, snowshoeing adventures and ice climbing experiences. Every journey is unique as the glacier constantly changes, with guides always finding new ice caves, tunnels and formations to explore. Group sizes are kept small for a personalised experience, and all guides are certified through the internationally recognised New Zealand Mountain Guides Association. Carbon Zero certified. Based at Mount Cook Airport, five minutes from Mount Cook Village.
Inclusive statement
Mt Cook Glacier Guiding provides accessible tours for guests with disabilities and has been working with MakingTrax to make glacier adventures possible for a wide range of abilities. Good to know
All glacier access is via helicopter or ski plane — there is no walk-on access to the Tasman Glacier. A specially designed ski chair is available for guests with reduced mobility for snow landings and movement on the glacier. For all adaptive bookings, contact MakingTrax in advance with details of your ability, weight, transfer ability and any mobility equipment — arrangements need to be made well ahead of your visit. Minimum age is 9 years for the Adventurer Glacier Heli-Hike; 13 years for all other trips. Children 9–16 must be accompanied by an adult. All trips are weather dependent — a 24-hour cancellation policy applies. All adaptive trips organised through Makingtrax
