Activities & Adventure

Oxbow Adventure Co.

Gibbston Valley, Queenstown Region · 30 minutes drive from Queenstown

Adapting Aotearoa Endorsed
MakingTrax Endorsed

Oxbow Adventure Co offers three distinct outdoor activities at their purpose-built adventure park in the Gibbston Valley. Jet Sprint Boating launches guests from 0–100kph in 2.5 seconds around a custom racetrack. The Ultimate Off-Roader is a one-of-a-kind 4WD, 4-wheel-steer vehicle that tackles steep terrain, rocks and gullies on a purpose-designed course. Clay Target Shooting at the Oxbow Gun Club is a more measured activity — one-on-one instruction, six shooters at a time, eight different flurry styles. Activities can be booked individually or as duo and trio combo packages.

Inclusive statement

At Oxbow, the team believes a real adventure is for everyone. Staff work personally with each guest to make activities as accessible as possible — if it can be done, they'll find a way to make it work. Guests of all abilities are warmly welcomed.

Good to know

The Jet Sprint Boat and Ultimate Off-Roader both require a minimum height of 1.2 metres and are not recommended for anyone who is pregnant or with recent fractures or significant neck/back conditions — assessed case by case. Both vehicles have 4-point race harnesses and high-back race seats for a secure ride, however guests must be able to independently release the seat belt buckle for safety. Transfers into the vehicles are reasonably user friendly, though guests who need transfer assistance will need to bring their own support person. Clay Target Shooting has a minimum age of 13 years. The venue is 25 minutes from Queenstown on the Gibbston Highway — own transport required. We have yet to develop an Access Guide, so please contact us directly We are not quite Adapting Aotearoa Endorsed as have yet to develop an Access Guide or complete the modules, although hopefully going through the Endorsement Process soon.
