Packrafting Queenstown
Queenstown, Queenstown Region · Trip departure organised upon booking

Packrafting Queenstown runs small group guided trips and courses from their Queenstown base, taking guests into some of the most remote and beautiful river valleys in the region. Trips range from the relaxed, beginner-friendly Rees Valley day trip through to whitewater day trips, overnight adventures, and multi-day expeditions. Packrafts are lightweight, packable single-person boats that can be hiked into otherwise inaccessible terrain — no prior experience is required for entry-level trips.
Inclusive statement
The team at Packrafting Queenstown genuinely believe a real adventure is for everyone. Packrafts are a versatile vessel that can be adapted to suit a wide range of physical abilities, including wheelchair users. The perfect adaptive experience to discover beautiful remote locations.
Good to know
Packrafts are single-person boats — everyone on the trip must be able to independently control their own boat. Guests must have functional hand use and basic swimming ability. A custom support harness and tandem packraft are available for guests who need in-river assistance from a guide. The Rees Valley (License to Chill) trip involves a flat, easy hike in and gentle paddling — the most suitable option for those with limited mobility. We also have a helicopter shuttle option for the ultimate remote experience. Minimum age is generally 14, though exceptions can be made — Adaptive trips are created through MakingTrax We are not quite Adapting Aotearoa Endorsed as have yet to develop an Access Guide or complete the modules, although hopefully going through the Endorsement Process soon.
